Week of January 15, 2024


⛄❆We have been having so much fun transforming our Learning Center into a Winter Wonderland! 

 A Sneak Peek at Our Upcoming Week:  We will be learning Letter Mm and working on our name recognition as well as our Weather Unit this week.

Our Parent/Teacher Conferences will be on Wednesday, January 24th as well as before school everyday that same week.  Thank you so much for your rapid responses.  I think everyone has already signed up for a time! Please note that Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri conferences will take place in our classroom and all Wednesday ones will take place in the St Therese Church Office, right down the hall from the Church entrance and just past the restrooms.  

❄❅❆⛄🥶Dress for the Weather: 🥶⛄❆❅❄ Please pack your child with a warm hat and mittens (or gloves if they can manage them independently) as we will continue to play outdoors if weather permits and we sometimes take Nature Walks outside to learn about trees, weather, seasons, etc..

This Week's Focus will be on:

Letter of the Week: Letter Mm
Number of the Month: 5
Colors of the Month:  Black and White
Shape of the Month:  Diamond (rhombus)
January Themes:  Counting 0-5, Sorting, AB Patterns, Feelings, Winter, Weather, Hibernation,                                          Name Recognition, Name Writing, Scissor Skills
Religion:  Sign of the Cross, Simple Prayers, Grace before meals, The Epiphany, Praying for Others

Show & Tell:  NO Show and Tell this week due to the shortened week

Dates to Remember:

January 15th: NO SCHOOL Martin Luther King Jr Day
January 16th - 19th: PRIORITY REGISTRATION for the 2024-2025 School Year for current STS Families
January 24th:  PreK-3 Parent/Teacher Conferences (details were emailed on 12/31)
January 26th:  🧸 PreK Pajama Day!! 🧸 (Information came home through folders)
January 28th: STS Catholic Schools Week Begins (details on our school website)
January 29th: Wear “BLUE” to show your support for the Troopers United Foundation! TUF was created by dedicated NJ State Police Troopers to be of assistance to any and all Troopers, Law Enforcement Officers, First Responders, and their respective families, in the event of a tragedy or illness. *This Tag Day donation for the Troopers United Foundation is SEPARATE from the Project Graduation monthly Tag Days.
Wednesday, January 31st:  Wear your #CSW24 t-shirt or STS PreK t-shirt if purchased
Thursday, February 1st:  Wear Red, White and Blue for Tunnel to Towers Foundation tag day (see school website for more information)
February 19th: NO SCHOOL - Presidents' Day

We have been doing such a wonderful job praying for our loved ones

L is for Lion!





We took our Winter Photos before the snow melted!




And then had so much fun graphing what we wore to school, gloves, mittens or nothing!

We worked on making diamonds out of pipe cleaner sticks...





And then used our skinny markers to trace diamonds onto our snowflakes!





Then we glued and glittered on the backs of our snowflakes!!


WE LOVE GLITTER!!!!!



They look so beautiful!!


And are now decorating our wintery classroom sky!

Winter Dance Parties are so much fun!!


We loved making our Winter Snow Globes!



They are still drying and will be on display in our Hallway Gallery soon!!

Dressing our Weather Bear for the day's weather has been so much fun too!
Ask your little meteorologist to sing you our new weather song!!


Our Five Day Friends did so well with our Letter Review!


Making partner L's was soooo coool!!!



So was making L's with our tubes!!!





And then making GIANT L's with partner tubes too!!!



Did you know that L is for lollipop???


And for licking too???



l is for lamp!





Learning Number 5 was so much fun!


We did so well tracing it onto our snowflake...


And we loved counting 5 marshmallows onto our counting boards!


And then EATING THEM!!!!!!


Then we counted 5 more to glue onto our HOT CHOCOLATE CUPS!!!


It was so much fun!!



After reading a funny snowy storybook where the farmer named his five animals, "One, Two, Three, Four and Five," we made our own snowy scenes...

She had so much fun spending the day with your little munchkins!!






Movement Breaks are so much fun too!!
(Especially when we move to really funny songs!!!)
