💛Our PreK-3 Friends are the CUTEST!!!!💛

Thank you so much for your very generous contributions to this incredible Tag day cause!

Our school raised $1125 that is being donated to Goryeb Children's Hospital.

Weekly Recap:  

We had a great week of school learning about Alligators, Acorns, Autumn and APPLES!!  We are continuing to learn all about ourselves and each other!  We had so much fun exploring our sense of taste and loved being scientists as we dissected apples!  We loved learning new, interesting words and couldn't wait to trick our families with our new discoveries (Apple Stars and Pips!!)

A Sneak Peek at Our Upcoming Week:

This week we will be wrapping up our Apple Unit and our in depth study of our Sense of Taste with a special guest "cooking" lesson!  We will be  continuing to work on our "All About Me" (and each other) Unit,  learning about our sense of Sight, learning Letter Bb, Number One and exploring the Season of Autumn/Fall!

Utensils Request:

Please try to remember to pack your child a fork or spoon should their meals require one.  We have some in class in the event that you forget.  Thank you.

Snuggle Buddies: 

If your child stays for the full day, please send in a small stuffy for rest time that can be kept in school for the entire week.  It is very difficult for us to remember to send home rest time buddies every day.  Thank you.

Switching your child between PreK-3 programs:

If for any reason you would like to switch your child to a new program offering please let me and our school secretary know.  For example, if you would like to switch from 3 Full Days to 5 Half Days or to 5 Full Days at any point in the school year, we can accommodate  your request, same with switching from 5 Half Days to 5 Full Days.   Please note however that we cannot switch "days" of our program.  If your child comes to school 3 Days, those days are set to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and cannot be switched to Tuesdays and Thursdays unless your child switches to one of our 5 Day Programs.  

After School Clubs:

Please note that their is one After School Club offered by our HSA that is open to our 3 Year Olds!  

8H -Hip Hop Class Grades PREK3-1st 12 student cap 2:30-3:00PM

This upbeat class blends creative movement with beginner-level hip-hop and basic spotted tumbling. The children will explore spatial awareness and directional patterns, and build coordination and motor skills through fun, lively music and props. The Mini Movers Dance program performs at community & school events with borrowed costumes. When an optional performance happens, parents will be informed what color shirt and pants to provide, and then they will be given a bag of costume accessories to borrow. This half hour Class will be taught by Miss Misty, an energetic and fun instructor.

SESSION #1: Sept 29, Oct 6, Oct 13, Oct 20, Oct 27, (perform at Trunk or Treat)

SESSION #2: Nov 3, Nov 10, Nov 17, Nov 24, Dec 1, Dec 8, Dec 15 (with performance at Christmas Concert)

Instructor: Miss Misty Fee: $ 78 per session or $120 for both

If you are interested, please sign up through our HSA asap as the class caps at 12 students.

October 7th and 8th K-8th Parent Teacher Conferences:

Our PreK Parent Teacher Conferences will take place in January.  These days are NOON Dismissals for the BIG SCHOOL. PreK will be in session for a regular school day with a 2:30 dismissal for our Full Day Students.  Noon Dismissal Families, please note that our Noon Dismissal will be much busier on these days as the entire school will also be dismissing and parishioners will also be arriving for Noon Mass.  If you will be taking your Full Day Student home at noon on these days, please send me a note so I can have them packed and ready.  You will need to sign them out during our Noon Dismissal Carline.  I will have a Sign Out Sheet with me so you will not need to go to the Main Office to do so on those days.  Thank you for your anticipated patience  and cooperation.

We have been so impressed with how quickly our sweet friends have started to play so nicely together!! We've been so impressed with their creative games too!!

We have really been enjoying our AMAZING  Super Star Posters too!!

Our Religion Lesson this week was all about Friendship too!

We continued to learn about ourselves as we looked in the mirror to see what color our eyes are!

Then we recorded our results!

Then we colored our own mirrors!

We had so much fun learning about Circles and making our Circle Prints!!

A is for ALLIGATORS!!!

We loved reading a funny alligator storybook, learning alligator facts and then doing the ALLIGATOR CHOMP song and dance!!!

We did so well on our A is for Alligator craft!

We learned that A is for Acorn!

And we started learning about Autumn!!

Once they dried, we put on on their finishing touches!

They are now on display in our Classroom Gallery!!

We also learned that A is for Autumn and that Fall is another word for this beautiful season!

Then we used a new, special painting technique to make our own Autumn Trees!

We did so well identifying the "different" apple in each set!

And we learned all about apple cores too!

We took an Apple Orchard "Field Trip" on our Learning Board!

Did you hear that our little scientists conducted some very special scientific experiments?!?!

We learned the parts of apples and all about how they grow!!

Then we DISSECTED an apple!!!

Guess what shape we found inside?!?!

Guess what we found hiding in the stars?!?!

Dis you hear about our APPLE TASTE TEST?!?!?!

We tried 3 different colored apples!!

Then we graphed our FAVORITEs!

Were you able to guess your little apple eating scientist's favorite?

We loved drawing our own Apple PIPs for our a is for apple craft!

Then we added them onto our craft!

We also painted apple pips onto our apple cores!

They are now on display in our Hallway Gallery!

Our fun with Apples didn't stop there!

After reading Ten Apples on Top our Five Day Friends has so much fun trying to balance "apples" on top of their own heads!!!!

IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!

Then we sponge painted Mrs Dobres' favorite kind of apple - the one that is all three colors!!!!

It was such a cool painting game!!

Our masterpieces are now on display on our classroom fireplace!

Our Five Day Friends did so well sorting our Farm Stand Apples!!

And they LOVED using Dot Markers to find the Letter A Apples!!

We loved using this crazy new painting technique to make feathers on something we will be learning about soon!!
