Week of May 27, 2019

Summer Fun Week was a blast!  It is so hard to believe that our school year is coming to a close with only four more school days left before our graduation!

We have been busy watching our caterpillars spinning themselves into cocoons and this week the most exciting thing happened!  Ask your little scientists all about what happened to our cocoons this week!

We will be wrapping up our units of study these next four school days and will be sending home some special masterpieces.  Be sure to check your child's folder daily.

PreK-3 Graduation:  JUNE 7, 2019 at 10:00am   Our PreK-3 Graduation is scheduled for June 7th at 10:00.  Please bring your child to our classroom at 9:30 am and then proceed over to the Main Building Gym.  Our show will begin at 10:00am.  The children will be dismissed to you immediately following our performance and light refreshments.

Numbers of the Month: 9 and 10

Color of the Month:  Review of all Colors

Shape of the Month:  Review of all Shapes

STEAM Unit:  The Life Cycle
Themes for the Month:  Counting, Name Writing, Scissor Skills, Opposites, Nursery Rhymes, Flowers, Insects 

Religion:  Sign of the Cross, Simple Prayers, Grace Before Meals, "Our Church"

Show & Tell Friday:    OUR LAST SHOW AND TELL IN PREK-3!  Bring in anything you'd like to show and tell our Prek-3 friends about.

Week of May 20, 2019- Summer Fun Week

The Land of Make Believe was so much fun!  We loved spending time with our Pre-K families and watching your little ones run and explore the park.  We couldn't have asked for a more glorious, sunny day!!

Our caterpillars and gardens are growing sooooo rapidly!  It has been so exciting to observe!!  Our caterpillars have undergone a miraculous transformation.  Be sure to ask your little scientist all about it!

We will be celebrating SUMMER FUN this week!  Our Summer Fun Day is scheduled for Wednesday.  Please dress your child in comfortable clothes and sneakers as we will be spending a large portion of our morning outdoors.  You may want to apply sunscreen before school.

LAND OF MAKE BELIEVE

The Land of Make Believe

We are so excited for our trip to The Land of Make Believe on May 15^{th !}

Here are some things to keep in mind for that day:

*Chaperones:  Please be reminded that a parent or an adult caregiver must accompany each of our preschoolers and remain with them throughout the day. 

*Transportation:  You must provide your own transportation; it will NOT be provided by school.  

*Lunch:   You make pack your own lunches, snacks and drinks or purchase them at the park.

*Dress:   Please have your child wear comfortable shoes as they will be doing a lot of walking.  If you have a St Therese T-Shirt please wear it for the trip.  Also, you may want to apply sunscreen ahead of time and bring some with you to re-apply as we are hoping for plenty of sunshine!!

*Time and Tickets:  Lets plan on meeting near the front entrance at 9:15.  We will assemble to the left of the ticket booth.  We will distribute your tickets (wristbands) at that time.  The park opens at 9:30 and closes at 2:00.  You may stay for as long as you’d like.

*Rain:  The forecast is looking very promising for our trip date!!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you fabulous MOMs!!  We had so much fun making you your gifts this week.  The children LOVED telling us all about their special Mommies!!

We continue to be very busy rehearsing for our special graduation performance and can't wait to head over to the big school and perform for you on stage!!!

Our caterpillars and gardens are growing sooooo rapidly!  It has been so exciting to observe!!

Thank you so much for such a special Teacher Appreciation Week!!  Your overwhelming generosity and kind words truly mean so much to us but we feel that we are the ones who should be thanking you for giving us the incredible opportunity to teach your sweet little ones.  We continue to be so grateful for all of your support.

Week of May 5, 2019

Who knew learning the letter Ww could be so much fun?!?  The World, whales, watermelon and watercolors were just a few highlights of our week!

We focused on Earth Day with learning different ways everyone can help keep our world and all of God's creatures safe and healthy.  We also did some planting and learned about different types of seeds.  Be sure to ask your little gardener if they remember what every seed needs to grow...

Opposites were lots of fun to discover as well, especially comparing the HEAVY watermelon to the light pompom.  (There was so much giggling in our classroom for that lesson!!)
