Week of October 26, 2020

EEEEEEEKKKKKK Week!

We loved some of our smelly marker scents more than others!

Building triangles with popsicle sticks was so fun!

Triangle eyes and noses were fun to put on our jack-o-lanterns but deciding whether to make them grumpy or happy was the best part!

Painting our plates green was the first step to making our scary monsters!!

Egg balancing is a lot trickier than it looks!!!

We have been doing such an amazing job lining up and walking in a straight line!

Wait until you see our MUMMIES!!!!   (They are still drying in our classroom...)

Playing on our playground is such a ball!!!

EEEEEKKKK!!!!!  Did our Halloween monsters scare you?  Or maybe our Witch song did?  Ask your little pumpkin to sing it to you if they haven't already. If they need a prompt, it starts like this, "Stirring and Stirring."  That should get them going!  They've already learned two others as well so you may be hearing them around the house too!

This week was so exciting!  Letter Ee, elephants, eggs, egg balancing games, monsters, mummies, jack-o-lanterns, sense of smell and Halloween songs were just a few of our highlights!  Did your little monster point out their jack-o-lantern's TRIANGLE eyes and nose?!?  They have been doing so well learning their shapes!

Did your little stinker tell you which was his/her favorite and least favorite smell during our smell test?  (Garlic was an almost unanimous least favorite and favorite was a toss up between cinnamon and syrup but most surprising, coffee was one of our little munchkin's favorite smell!!!)

This upcoming week will be a review week in PreK-3.  We will focus on all of the letters we've learned so far, Aa-Ee.  We will also be working on our sense of touch.  And we will finish off the week by celebrating HALLOWEEN in our classroom!  I can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying by!

FALL FUN DAY was so much FUN!

                                                             Look at our class spider!

It was so fun to make together!

Thank you Mrs B. for all of your help!

The magician's dove was so soft to touch and the hand sanitizer was so cold afterwards!

Our pumpkin pie play dough smelled so good!

We heard geese flying south for the winter but Mrs Dobres was too slow with her camera to take a picture of them because she was too busy enjoying listening to our giggles on the playground!

We used our eyes to look for the perfect pumpkins in our pumpkin patch!

We play so nicely together, inside and out!

We love Show and Tell Fridays!!

Look closely at who is eating our pumpkin outside!

Fall Fun Day was even fun for the squirrel!

I am so proud of all of the children for coming back to school, after a full week off from the PreK-3 classroom, without missing a beat!  They all remembered our routines and came right in ready to learn and play!

Fall Fun Day was so much fun!  A big shout out to Mrs. Reed for organizing such a successful day and a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all of our amazing parent volunteers who went above and beyond their volunteer posts to ensure that all the children had a great time!  A big thank you to Mr. Reed for making the amazing play dough that we all had so much fun playing with and sniffing!
