Week of February 22, 2021

We had so much fun making clouds with a new painting technique!
Ask your little artist all about it!

Our little scientists LOVED our color mixing experiment!

And they had soooo much fun painting their rain clouds with the new color they created!

Name puzzles were so much fun to put together!
"What a Beautiful Name" each of our friends has!

We made The Best Nests!

We did a great job learning from home on Friday too!

It was so fun to see our friends on Zoom!
And it was super cool to see our special guest, Mrs. McDonald!!!

Weekly Recap:  So this was a much shorter week that we had expected!  We were able to get a lot in regardless though.  We loved mixing paint to make gray!  Ask your little artist what two colors they used.

We also LOVED the story book The Best Nest and made our own "N" Nests! Here is the link to an animated version of the read aloud that I had planned on showing the children on Friday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKmgL8NhZ8M.

Clouds were so much fun to learn about too.  Don't be surprised to see your little meteorologist staring up at the sky and identifying funny cloud shapes!

We worked on name puzzles in school and during remote learning too!  That was actually great timing for a remote day!  Please let your little puzzle solver continue to build their name puzzles whenever they'd like to practice.  I will not be collecting them back so keep them out at home.  The more they practice, the better!  If you'd like a little extension activity for that remote learning lesson, have your little one physically take each letter in their name, one at a time, and find something around the house with that letter (look at cereal boxes, books, household labels, magazines, etc.)  That should keep them busy for a while and it's a great literacy activity!

A Sneak Peak at Our Upcoming Week: This upcoming week will be a regular week, hopefully!  We will continue to work on letter Nn, Noah's Ark, rainbows and rainy weather.  We will also squeeze in Letter Oo and wrap up some of our February themes.  (Fingers crossed that we will have an uninterrupted week!!!)

Pajama Day:  February 26th: Please have your child wear their favorite pajamas to school and bring in a snuggly friend (teddy bear, doll, stuffed animal, etc.)  as their SHOW and TELL item this week.

Rainbow Day in PreK:  March 5th:  Wear your favorite color to school and bring in something that is your favorite color for Show and Tell.

Easter Hat Celebration:  March 22nd:  Easter is early this year and so is our Annual PreK Easter Hat Celebration!  Time to get out the Peeps, plastic eggs, flowers, bunny ears and your hot glue gun!!  It's your time to shine in creating the most amazing Easter Hat with your little honey bunny!  You can be as simple or elaborate as you'd like.  I'm sure your little cutie will be proud to wear whatever you create together!  Please see the notice that went home in your child's folder for more details.
