Week of February 11, 2019

We had another fun week of school packed with new learning!

A great big thank you to Mrs. Dodenhoff, a former St Therese parent, for coming in to teach our class all about dental health!  We had so much fun learning about good healthy habits and how to best protect our teeth from those nasty little "sugar bugs!"

We were scientists once again in PreK-3  making lots of rainy observations with our rain cloud experiment.  We also had a "Rain, Rain Go Away" parade singing and playing our instruments!  When we were done, the most AMAZING thing happened to the rain clouds outside!  Ask your preschooler to tell you all about it!

This week is promising to be another fun one in PreK-3.  Be sure to ask your Little Valentine all about it!

Valentine's Day:  We will celebrate Valentine's Day on Friday, February 15th in our classroom since we are not in session on the actual holiday (Feb 14th).  We will be exchanging Valentine Cards.  Please send in one card for each child with only your own child's name on each as the from whom the card is and not the name for whom it is intended.  This will make distribution much easier as the children are only just beginning to recognize each other's names.  We have 13 children in our class.  The children can either make their own little cards or they may be purchased.  That is entirely up to you.  Please do not send in Valentines with food or candy as we have children with allergies in our classroom and school.  Your children may begin to bring in their cards starting on February 8th all the way through our party on the 15th.

Week of February 4, 2019

We have some exciting news in PreK-3...  We have a new student, Luca!  The children were so warm and welcoming towards Luca this week.  What an amazing group of children!  Luca fits right in!

We continued learning about weather this week with an in depth study of one of the most famous weather forecasters, THE GROUNDHOG!  Hope you had a chance to check the news reports with your preschoolers on Groundhog Day...  If you didn't, just ask your Preschooler all about it on Monday!  Hint, Hint... It is great news for all of us warm weather lovers!!!!!

We had so much fun making groundhog shadows.  Ask your little one to show you on his/her groundhog craft.  All you need to supply is a flashlight!

I was so impressed with how well everyone did with practicing their scissors skills!  We will continue to practice throughout the rest of the school year.

This week we will focus on dental health as well as rain clouds and letters Ll and Mm.  BUSY week ahead... let's all keep our fingers crossed that the weather will cooperate this week!!
