Week of October 18, 2021

BOO!

Did our Jack-o-Lanterns scare you?  Some of us made happy ones and some made grumpy ones!  Our artists were left to create as their imaginations took them!

Some smelly markers smelled much sweeter than others!!!  LOL!

Do these photos explain some of the mystery stains our little artists came home with this week???

We put our sniffers to work exploring our sense of smell!
Did you sniff out an extra special craft this week?

Building triangles with popsicle sticks was truly an amazing feat of engineering for our incredible little mathematicians!

Did your little pumpkin point out all the triangles on their jack-o-lanterns?

Step one in a pretty spooky craft and book we read this week!

The final touches...

And now... on display in our Learning Center Hallway Gallery for everyone to enjoy!

"d is for dinosaur!"  Ask your little dancer to sing and dance the Dinosaur song for you!

PLAYGROUND FUN!

The fire truck made a surprise appearance as we wrapped up our Firefighter Unit!!!

Bye Bye Firetruck!

This is the "sort" of stuff we do in our afternoon program!

Our Fall Leaves are now on display along with PreK-4's  in our Hallway Gallery!

Weekly Recap:  Have you been hearing some scary songs at home????  Ask your little pumpkin to sing them for you if they haven't already. If they need a prompt, one starts like this, "Stirring and Stirring."  That should get them going!  They've already learned two others as well so you may be hearing them around the house too!  Did your little monster point out their jack-o-lantern's TRIANGLE eyes and nose?!?  They have been doing so well learning their shapes!  And did your little stinker tell you which was his/her favorite and least favorite smell during our smell test?  (Garlic, cinnamon and syrup were some of their most favorite while coffee received the most thumbs down!!!  I'd love to repeat this test in thirty years!)

A sneak peek at our week: These upcoming two weeks will be super busy ones in PreK-3.  We will be focusing on all of the letters we've learned so far, Aa-Dd, as well learning our new Letter - Ee.  We will also be working on our sense of touch.  And we will be celebrating FALL FUN DAY and HALLOWEEN!  I can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying by!  Please remember to dress for the weather on Wednesday as we will be spending much of our morning outdoors.

πŸ’—St Therese School Helping Hands:  St Therese School is holding a special $1 Tag Day on Tuesday, 10/19, to raise funds for a former parent who is experiencing an unimaginable hardship right now.  This parent dedicated a lot of time and energy volunteering and giving to our school and can really use our community's help right now.  Donations of any amount, cash or checks made out to St Therese School, would be greatly appreciated.  We will be collecting through Friday, October 29th.  Thank You and God Bless!

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held in January for PreK and K. Please disregard any communications from the office regarding conferences in November as they do not pertain to our class.  Also, even though the rest of the school will have noon dismissals on those days in November, PreK will be in session full day.

This Week's Focus will be on:
Letter of the Week: Ee and Review of Aa-Dd
Number of the Month: 2
Color of the Month:  Orange
Shape of the Month:  Triangle

Show & Tell Friday:  On Friday, October 22nd, please bring in something orange or something Halloween themed to show and tell our friends about.   The children really do look forward to sharing their items with one another!  ALSO, PLEASE COME TO SCHOOL DRESSED  IN HALLOWEEN COLORS FOR AN 8th GRADE TAG DAY!  I can't wait to get a group photo that day!
