Week of February 19, 2024

Happy Birthday to our sweet friend!!

Weekly Recap:  We had a very busy and productive short week of school!  It certainly was a little bit of everything!!  Please see photos below for a true recap!!

A Sneak Peek at Our Upcoming Week:  We will be learning Letter Qq, working on Number 6 as well as continuing to work on our Weather Unit!!!

Carline:  Thank you for your cooperation as we work out some kinks in our carline procedures.  We placed cones on the fire lane in front of the Learning Center to create a little walkway between your vehicles and the teachers and students as we help your children into your cars.  Please pull right up to the stop sign if you are the first car in our pick up line.  We will help three children into their cars at a time.  Please buckle your child in before moving your vehicle.  Once those three cars drive off, we ask that the next three cars drive all the way to the stop sign and right behind the lead vehicle.  We will follow the same procedure through the end of the carline.  Thanks again for your anticipated cooperation.  It is for everyone's safety.

πŸ‡πŸ°Easter Hat ParadeπŸ°πŸ‡ - March 22nd at 11:15am (rain date 3/25):  Easter is in March this year and so is our Annual PreK Easter Hat Celebration!  Time to get out the Peeps, plastic eggs, flowers, bunny ears and your hot glue gun!!  It's your time to shine in creating the most amazing Easter Hat with your little honey bunny!  You can be as simple or elaborate as you'd like.  I'm sure your little cutie will be proud to wear whatever you create together!  Please see the notice that came home in your child's folder for more details.  (I thought I'd give everyone an early heads-up since the dollar stores are already full of Easter items!)

Our Week in Photos:

πŸ“Έ Here's A Little Snap Shot of Our WeekπŸ“Έ

We started the week off learning a new type of pattern!

And then did so well making our mommies and daddies their Valentine's!!
I hope they were delivered with a special hug, kiss and song like we practiced at school!!

Then the day we have been waiting for finally arrived...

We learned about Ash Wednesday with Father Jun on Wednesday.  He was so kind to bring us this amazing lesson after celebrating Ash Wednesday Mass in the Church with the rest of our STS friends.

He told us that the ashes would give us kindness super powers!

Then he gave us each ashes as he recited a special prayer.
It was so special.  Thank you Father Jun.

Then we started putting our new super powers right in action!!

We began collecting Good Deeds for Lent as we prepare for Easter.  These are our collection baskets... And we are off to a wonderful start.  Ask your little one to tell you all about it.

Our new super powers are much more impressive than these superheroes' powers!!

Speaking of superheroes and super powers... STS's own Officer Feeney retired from the Roxbury Police Department on Friday.  We sent him a special congratulations message and had so much fun waving our American Flags for him!!  Thank you for all of your years of service to our community Officer Feeney!!  We πŸ’™ you!!

WE LOVED DELIVERING OUR VALENTINE'S TO OUR FRIENDS!!!

And OH MY GOODNESS!!!
WE LOVED OUR LITTLE SWEETHEARTS' VALENTINE'S SHIRTS, OUTFITS and SMILES too!!!!!

We did so well on our Valentine's Work Times!!

And then we got ready for a special scissor surprise!!
We cut a folded piece of paper to make a special surprise shape!!

Can you guess what it was?!?!

We thought it was so cool to find our Shape of the Month in our Pirate Booty snacks too!!

Have I told you how much I LOVE all of our little SWEETHEARTS?!?!

Valentine's Day Games were so fun!!

We loved sponge painting our Lenten Eggs with a fun freeze and switch color game!!

They look so beautiful and will soon be on display in our Hallway Gallery!!

We also painted our George Washington Faces as s first step in a cool craft...

Then we had so much fun finishing our George Washington crafts on Friday!

We loved learning all about our nation's first president and had so much fun flipping his quarters too!!

Our Five Day Friends had so much fun learning about another great president too...

And did so well building his log cabin!!
Did you guess who he is?
If you need a hint, look at who is looking out his log cabin window of their finished craft!!

We finished up our Letter Pp Books...

And used yet another painting technique to make PINK!!!

πŸ’—Even on carline... we are sooooo cute!!!!!πŸ’—

Free Choice Show and Tell was so cool!!

And then we lost power at school....
But that didn't stop us from learning and having fun!!!

We wrapped up Letter Pp by learning about peacocks!!

Look who stopped in for a visit!!
He was so impressed with how smart our little munchkins are!!

Our peacocks are drying in our classroom and will be coming home soon...

Our Three Little Pigs Bulletin Board is now on display in our Learning Center Hallway Gallery!!
Can you find your Little Piggie and their story?
