Eek Week in PreK-3

Weekly Recap:  
Eek! What a week!!  Elephants, Fall Fun Day, Mummies, Monsters, Witches, Sense of Smell and "Monster Mash" were just a few of our highlights!

A Peek at our Week Ahead:
We will continue to learn about our senses with a focus on our sense of touch this week.  It's going to be a MESSY WEEK!!  Please dress for the mess!!  We will be finishing up Letter Ee, continuing to learn about Fall as well as making another spooky Halloween masterpiece!  We will Celebrate Halloween on Friday!! (see below)

🍂👻🎃Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year so we will celebrate it on Friday, October 27th in PreK.  Please refer to the information that came home through your child's folder with all the specific information for the day.  Let's all keep our fingers crossed for a nice day.  Unless it is POURING, we plan on parading!  If your child is a FULL DAY Friend and you plan on taking him/her home after the parade, PLEASE send in a note by Wednesday so I can plan accordingly.  Our FIVE DAY FRIENDS can wear their costumes again on Halloween, Tuesday, 10/31. Please pack a complete change of clothes or have them wear their clothes under their costumes.  We will be walking over to the Big School in the afternoon to watch the Big School Parade. 

🎄🎅🌟CHRISTMAS🌟🎅🎄Please save the date!  🎄Our PreK Combined 3's and 4's Christmas Show🎄is confirmed for Friday, December 8th at 9:00am in the Main Gym.  Details will be coming home through your child's folder in the upcoming weeks.

Religion: Sign of the Cross, Simple Prayers, Grace before meals, Helping and Caring for One Another

Show and Tell:  NO SHOW And TELL this week due to our Halloween Parade and Party. 

Dates to Remember:

October 27th (Friday) 11:15am🎃PreK Halloween Parade🎃:  Families and Friends invited!  Our Parade is separate from the Big School 10/31 AFTERNOON Parade.  For those interested in attending, the STS Trunk or Treat is in the evening on 10/27 as well.  DETAILS CAME HOME THROUGH YOUR CHILD'S FOLDER.

November 11th- NO SCHOOL- Veterans' Day (observed)

November 17th- 📷Class Picture Day (group shot) and Picture Retake Day- Wear your BEST SMILE!

November 20-21:  PRESCHOOL will be in full session even though K-8 will have Noon Dismissals for conferences.  Our PreK Conferences will take place in January. 

November 22nd, Wednesday-🦃 NOON DISMISSAL- No After School Care- Thanksgiving Break

November 23rd and 24th- NO SCHOOL- Thanksgiving Break

December 8th 9:00am:  Save the Date- 🎄PreK Combined 3's and 4's Christmas Show🎄

December 21st: NOON Dismissal (No After Care)

December 22nd-29th:  NO SCHOOL - Christmas Break

E is for Elephant

We loved learning about Elephants and making one too!!

We especially loved dramatizing our Elephant Poem!!

Raising our trunks was our favorite part!!

EEEEK!!!  

Mummies!!!!!!!!!

(Shhhh... don't tell your spooky little mummy that they were working on their sensory and fine motor skills while making their masterpiece!!)

Our Fun Continues in the Afternoon...

Our Afternoon Friends LOVE Learning Board Games!

Our Five Day Friends were SO BUSY looking for Signs of FALL!!

Learning how to fly helicopter seeds was nothing short of AMAZING!!

Look at the size of that WORM!!!

They had so much fun reviewing Letter Dd too!!

And then... THINGS GOT VERY SPOOKY!!!

We made TRIANGE WITCHES!!

They were PUPPETS!!

And SO MUCH FUN to play with!!

We learned that the Letter Ee sound is PERFECT to laugh like a witch!

HEEEE  HEEEEE  HEEEE!!!

We also made a Wacky Witch's Brew!!

No peeking at our Wacky ingredients!!  

We stirred and stirred our BREW!!

And practiced singing our Halloween Song too!

And then we wrote and illustrated our own Wacky Witch's Brew stories!!

We reviewed our letters while making our own Fall Trees!!

We LOVED dramatizing our Fall Leaf Song!!

Helping the squirrel collect his acorns and find his nest was so "a-MAZE-ing" too!!

Making our own Fall Leaves was so messy... I mean cool!

We used a special painting technique!

Our leaves are so beautiful!

They will be on display in our Learning Center Hallway Gallery soon!

And then things got SUPER SPOOKY!!

🎵"OOOOO went the wind and OUT went the lights..."🎵

And we danced and danced...

to 🎵"THE MONSTER MASH"🎵

Eek!!!

Our Dance Moves were "Monster-ous!"  

And then finished making our MONSTERS!!

We worked on our Sense of Smell!!

We sampled different smells and chose thumbs up or thumbs down...

Almost all of our sniffers LOVED the smell of COFFEE!!

Garlic was not as appealing! 

SYRUP was a HUGE HIT TOO!

And Cinnamon made us all crave cookies!!! 

And we ALL LOVED our SMELLY MARKERS!!

Look who came sniffing around!

Our Smelly Masterpieces were SO MUCH FUN to make and SMELL!!

Fall Fun Day WAS THE BEST!!!

We made a cool beading craft!

We played with THE BEST PUMPKIN SMELLING PLAYDOUGH EVER!!

We picked pumpkins in the pumpkin patch!

We stuffed a scarecrow!!

There were games...

And more games!!

And more games!

There was a Magic/Puppet Show!!

We even pet a beautiful dove...

We were an AMAZING Audience!!

And most of all, we had SO MUCH FUN!!
