Week of September 25, 2023

 

Bb is for Bright, Beautiful smiles!!

Our apple cores are now on display in our Learning Center Hallway Gallery!

We did so well counting apple pips!

We worked on identifying same and different objects...

WE LOVED "GOING ON A BEAR HUNT"

We read the storybook and also watched and acted out the "movie."

B is for Bear!

We read two great Acorn storybooks and loved making our own acorns as we started learning about the Season of Fall!

Shhhh!  Don't tell your little artist that they were working on their fine motor skills!!

Our Amazing Acorns are now on display in our Classroom Gallery!

We loved playing our Apple Movement Game!

The cards told us to do such silly moves!

The last card we turned over told us to DANCE!!

SO WE DID!!!

Indoor playtime is so much fun!  We keep discovering new toys and new friends to play with too!!

It is ok for our friend to drive the bus but PLEASE "Don't Let Pigeon Drive the Bus!"

We were introduced to one of our favorite PreK authors, Mo Wilems!

We met some of his funniest characters this week: PIGEON, ELEPHANT and PIGGIE!!

They made us LAUGH and LAUGH!!!

Our Five Day Friends LOVED learning about Buses!

Did you know that Blippi and Bus both start with Bb?!?

We painted our own school buses!

And we worked on Letter Bb activities...

We had so much fun apple picking and sorting Big and Little Aa's into their corresponding baskets!

We Love our friends!

And toys too!!

We are working hard on our tracing skills!

We did so well learning Number 1!

And had so much fun playing Acorn Counting Games!

High Fives with Father Jun are so much fun!

Playing outside really is the Best!

We had some fun with shapes with our afternoon friends!

Our Five Day Friends did so well with our Bb Bus Sorting Game!

Then we finished our Buses!

And did so well sorting BIG B's and little b's!

We worked hard on our Bb Books...

And LOVED "Banana-stay" YOGA!!

Our Five Day friends are doing so well with their Letter Writing!

Our Circle Prints came out great!

They are still drying in our classroom and will be coming home soon!

And then... WE MADE BINOCULARS!!!

(And learned about our sense of sight!)

Then we went on a nature walk with our Binoculars to see what we could see!

LOOK!!!  WE SPOTTED FATHER JUN!!  He was on his way to Church!

We did so well writing our B's!

We also painted our Fall Trees...

We learned and dramatized a sweet "Teddy Bear" song...

We loved playing our Teddy Bear Big B, Little b Bean Bag Toss sorting game!

Bear Show and Tell was the Best!  Ask your little Snuggle Bug to tell you all about our fun with our Bears!  Ask them to sing you the "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear" song!

We are so Blessed to spend our days with this Beautiful Bunch!!

Weekly Recap:

We had another blessed week of learning bliss!  We really enjoyed spending the day with our teddy bears on Show and Tell Friday.  "Blue Bird, Blue Bird" was so much fun to make.  We loved going on our "Bear Hunt" and using our binoculars to explore our sense of sight.  The children adored being adventurers and exploring our school grounds using our binoculars!  They made so many wonderful discoveries!  Be sure to ask them all about it! 

A Peek at our Week Ahead:

This week we will be learning the letter Cc, focusing on our sense of hearing, learning about and observing signs of Fall and wrapping up our September themes before kicking off October!  It is going to be another busy week!!

This Week's Focus will be on:

Numbers of the Month:  0 and 1 
Color of the month: yellow
Shape of the month: circle
Themes: All About Me, Making Friends, Apples, The Five Senses, Season of Fall
Religion: Sign of the Cross, Simple Prayers, Grace before meals

Show and Tell:  Friday, September 29th-  Please bring in One thing that either starts with the "C" sound (car, cookie monster, cat, clown, etc.) or something yellow or circle shaped to show and tell our friends about. ***PLEASE LABEL WITH YOUR CHILD's NAME or place in a labeled baggie***

September 29th-  Go Gold Tag Day -  Wear GOLD to support Project Graduation ($1 donations appreciated)

October 2nd:  🌹St Therese of Lisieux Feast Day Walkathon👟 - Wear comfortable sneakers and bring your water bottle. We will participate with the rest of the school with a modified PreK appropriate walk and take breaks to cheer on the rest of the walkers.

October 4th:  🚒Roxbury Firefighter Presentation for PreK-1st Grade🚒

October 6th and 9th- NO SCHOOL - Teacher Professional Day & Columbus Day

October 18th morning (rain date 10/20)- 🍂🍁Fall Fun Day🍂🍁:  Details come home this week- (Volunteers Needed)

October 27th (Friday) 11:15am🎃PreK Halloween Parade🎃:  Families and Friends invited!  Details coming home soon... Our Parade is separate from the Big School 10/31 AFTERNOON Parade.  For those interested in attending, the STS Trunk or Treat is in the evening on 10/27 as well.

December 8th 9:00am:  Save the Date- 🎄Tentative PreK Combined 3's and 4's Christmas Show🎄
