Week of May 15, 2023

 

We really do have the greatest jobs in the world!!

Thank you so much for all of your kindness and generosity during Teacher Appreciation Week and always!  But I must be honest, it's we teachers who should be thanking you parents for sharing your incredible little sweethearts with us!!!

We were "busy bees" this week creating "toad-ally" awesome artwork to decorate our classroom and Learning Center Hallway!!

We continued working on our Nursery Rhymes Unit with a focus on "The Itsy Bitsy Spider!"

We learned the LAST LETTER of the Alphabet!!  As well as some fun zebra facts too!

We continue to be MASTER BUILDERS!!

We even build LETTERS!!!

And we LOVED working on our special Mother's Day gifts!!

The weather was PERFECT for all of our outdoor fun!

We loved reading Frog and Toad's The Garden and making our cool craft!

Coloring our toad's lips was hard work!

We drew our beautiful Mommy Portraits!

And we made our Mommies some pretty special flowers too!

Did you hear what happened to our chrysalises?!?!

OUR BUTTERFLIES EMERGED!!!

We named them some really cool names after a multistep name vote!

We LOVED planting our flowers in the PreK-3 Planter!

Friday was such a special day in PreK!!

We set our beautiful butterflies FREE!!

They didn't want to leave their butterfly juice bowl!!

It was soooo exciting!!!

Bye Bye Butterflies!!

We loved learning about different kinds of bugs this week too! 

And about how important some are for our world!!

Our Five Day Friends finished up their Butterfly Journals too!

And we did so well on our Butterfly Life Cycle Sequencing!!

A Sneak Peek at Our Upcoming Week:  We will be focusing on our Daddies this week as well as learning about Summer, working on Nursery Rhymes and rehearsing for our Preschool Graduation!!

Donations and a SPECIAL INVITATION:  A great BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has signed up to to donate something towards our Fun Week.  Our Room Moms will also be sending out a Sign Up Genius for Graduation Day Refreshments if you'd like to contribute that way.  We are still looking for some Chicken Nugget volunteers for our Prom Day.  As an extra incentive, I would like to invite any PreK-3 Parents who would like to make our warm chicken nugget delivery on Prom Day to stay for the remainder of our Prom when you make your special dinner delivery at 11:00am. (No gown or tuxedo required lol.)  

PreK Fun in the Sun Week:  will take place between Wednesday, May 24th and Wednesday, May 31st.  This is a combined PreK-3 and PreK-4 event!  We will be hosting a PreK Prom, an Art in the Park Day, an Under the Sea Day, a Zoo Animal Day and a Schoolwide Field Day!! Details and a food permission slip came home through your child's folder.  Please note that we may have to switch some days around due to the weather so please be flexible with us.  As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.  Please return your permission slip as soon as possible.  Also, we are looking for volunteers to help us set up and run stations on our Art in the Park Day as well as our Under the Sea Day.  If you are available to help us with either day, please let me know.  We will also be sending out a Sign Up Genius with some items we will be needing during our fun week.  We greatly appreciate any donations of time and supplies you are willing to make!  Thank you so much for your help!

PreK-3 Graduation - June 6, 2023:  We are in the process of planning our PreK-3 Graduation, "The Preschool Review" where we will take a trip down our PreK-3 Memory Lane singing a song or reciting a poem for each of the months we were in school!  Children will arrive in our classroom at 9:40 that morning and families will head to the Gym in the Main Building.  Our Performance will begin promptly at 10:00am and will be followed by light refreshments.  Children will be dismissed to their families right after the celebration.  Our Graduation will take approximately 60-90 minutes.  More details to follow.

Religion:  Sign of the Cross, Simple Prayers, Grace Before Meals, Praying for someone you care about, "We Love Mary" and  "We Sing Our Prayers"
