A Sneak Peek at Our Upcoming Week: We will be learning Letter Yy and finishing up Letter Xx, finishing up our Transportation Unit, and continuing to learn about the Life Cycle!

🌞PreK Summer Fun in the Sun Week🌞: May 20th through May 23rd: Details came home through your child's folder. This year's themes include Water Day 5/20, Bikes/Wheels Day 5/21, Camping Day 5/22 and PreK Olympics 5/23!! Please be sure to return your permission slip asap and be on the lookout for a Sign Up Genius coming from the PreK-4 email account. These special days and activities will be for both of our PreK classes.

🎓🏫PreK-3 Graduation - June 7, 2024: We are in the process of planning our PreK-3 Graduation, "The Preschool Review" where we will take a trip down our PreK-3 Memory Lane singing a song or reciting a poem for each of the months we were in school! Children will arrive in our classroom at 9:40 that morning and families will head to the Gym in the Main Building. Our Performance will begin promptly at 10:00am and will be followed by light refreshments. Children will be dismissed to their families right after the celebration. Our Graduation will take approximately 60-90 minutes. More details to follow.

Themes for the Month: Counting, Graphing, Name Writing, Scissor Skills, Opposites, Rhyming, Seasons of SPRING and SUMMER, Nursery Rhymes, Fairy Tales, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Flowers and Insects, Life Cycle

Religion: Sign of the Cross, Simple Prayers, Grace Before Meals, Praying for someone you care about, "We Love Mary" and "We Sing Our Prayers"

Show & Tell: Friday, May 10th: No Show and Tell this week due to a TOP SECRET VERY BUSY WEEK making things for a very special someone!! lol

Ww is for WOW!!!!

And what better way to have a wow week than to be scientists all week???

We made lots of OBSERVATIONS!!!

Our caterpillars grew and grew and grew over the weekend!!

And we watched, and watched and watched all week...

They started exploring new heights...

And then formed J's hanging from their habitat lid!!

And then right be for our very eyes they wrapped themselves up into chrysalises!!!!

We can't wait for what's next!!!

We started off our week with some Ww is for Water FUN!!

And we learned all about sinking and floating!

We also made PREDICTIONS as part of our scientific process!

And then had so much fun TESTING our predictions!!!

The results were soooo exciting!!

We made such beautiful sails for our sailboats and

then set sail across the seas!!

We made some amazing wind gusts!!

It was so fun!!

Officer Feeney stopped by to show us pictures of his own boat and to teach us some cool boat facts!

And then we made another cool boat craft!

They are going to be a part of something special we are working on right now!!

Our Five Day Friends loved making soap boats as part of a cool experiment!

(A great big thank you to Officer Feeney for the idea and for prepping this experiment for us!!)

Carving our bars of soap into boats was so fun!

And trying to float them was even more fun!!

Our Five Day friends also learned about a form of transportation that travels underwater!!

We had fun making some cool color blending experiments!!

Ww is for Watermelon!

We loved weighing our watermelon and deciding if it was heavy or light...

Ask your little one what they thought...

And then we were ready for our watermelon dissection!!!

And TASTE TEST too!!!

Ask your little one all about graphing our results!!

And then we made a sweet watermelon craft too!!

Ask your little mathematician to count their seeds for you!!

We LOVED reading Jack and The Beanstalk and then planting our own beans!!

This is going to be such a cool experiment!!

We started with cotton, then counted "5 Magic Beans," placed them in the cotton balls, watered them and finally... the most important step: SPRINKLED THEM WITH LOTS OF LOVE!!!!

And now we will start making our observations!!!!

Then our amazing little horticulturalists took their amazing skills to the great outdoors!

We turned the soil in our PreK-3 Flower Bed and added new soil too to get it ready for more scientific discoveries!!

We had fun playing out there too!!

We started learning Letter Xx with some xylophone fun!!

Then our little acousticians made our own homemade xylophones and had so much fun testing frequencies using various different type and sized glasses, sticks vs spoons and glasses with and without water!!
