Week of September 28, 2020

We have some exciting news in PreK-3!  Please help us in welcoming our new student, Madden, and his family to our amazing little school!  He's sure to fit right in!

We had another blessed week of learning bliss!  The children loved spending the day with their teddy bears on Show and Tell Friday.  "Blue Bird, Blue Bird" was so much fun to make, play and sing along to!  We loved going on our "bear hunt" and using our binoculars to explore our sense of sight.  The children adored being adventurers and exploring our school grounds using our binoculars!  They made so many wonderful discoveries!  Be sure to ask them all about it. 

"Banana-ste" Yoga was such a blast!!  Our little yoga masters were brilliant with all of their banana bending!!

This week we will be learning the letter Cc, focusing on our sense of hearing, learning about and observing signs of Fall and wrapping up circles and numbers 0 and 1!  It is going to be another busy week!!

October 9th and 12th- No School - Teacher Professional Day & Columbus Day

October 14th- Fall Fun Day (more info to follow)

October 30th- Halloween (details TBD but we will be dressing up in PreK!)

Week of September 21, 2020

We worked hard on our apples which are now on display in our Learning Center Hallway!!!  Look carefully at the leaves to identify your child's masterpiece!

Yellow Play Dough was SOOOO much fun!!

We LOVE our PLAYGROUND!!!!

We had such a fun first full week of PreK this week!  The children are all picking up on our classroom routines so nicely.

Letter Aa, Number 0, All About Me Books, Show and Tell, Alligators, Apples, Sense of Taste: Apple Taste Test, Acorns, Color Yellow, Finger Painting and Play Dough were just some of highlights!  We loved dancing and singing "The Alligator Chomp" as well as our "Silly Dance Contest!"

This upcoming week promises to be just as much fun as we explore The Season of Fall, Letter Bb, our Sense of Sight and Number 1!

Please remember your Teddy Bear for Show and Tell on Friday as well as to wear yellow/gold in support of Melanie Walsh (Maddox's sister) and Childhood Cancer Awareness.  Your $1 donations for this Tag Day are greatly appreciated.

We had such a fun week learning all about ourselves as well as one another!  We have been working hard on a special surprise that the children will be bringing home on Monday. Be sure to have your little author and illustrator share it with you (HINT, HINT!)!

The children all did such a wonderful job sharing their amazing Super Star Posters with one another!  They were so excited to see similarities between each other and to see their posters on display in our classroom!  Everyone did such a great job coming up with a poster as unique as their children!

We also had a blast reading and acting out one of our favorite books, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and learning about our names and initial letters! 

This week we will begin our Letter of the Week curriculum with letter Aa.  We will also be starting our STEM Unit on The Five Senses and learning about number 0!  Be sure to ask your child all about it!

On Friday, September 25th, the STS Eighth Graders will be hosting a school wide Tag Day for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to benefit our friend, Melanie Walsh, Maddox's sister.  Please help support this incredible cause by having your child wear gold or yellow and making $1 donations. 

A great BIG THANK YOU to Mrs. Broking for offering to be our Room Parent this year!!

If you haven't done so already, please return all of your forms to school as soon as possible and thank you for all of your generous donations of tissues and wipes!  They will certainly be coming in very handy this year.

We had a great first day of school on Friday!  Mrs McDonald and I were so impressed with all the children.  It is going to be a wonderful school year!!

We had fun painting, playing, coloring, singing, dancing and of course starting to make new friends!

This week we will be working on our "All About Me" (and each other) Unit!  We cannot wait to see what you and your children come up with on your Star Posters for Show and Tell on Friday!  We will also continue to learn our new classroom routines.  The children are all catching on really quickly already!

Please be on the lookout for an email from me regarding some last minute changes to our Car Line Procedures which will be affecting Arrival as well as Dismissal for everyone in PreK.
