Week of February 5, 2023

What an Outstanding Weather Week!

We had warm days and cold days!

And LOVED playing outside on the warm ones!

We are doing so well learning "The Grand Old Flag!"

Eating Lunch in school was such a TREAT!!

A great BIG THANK YOU to our room moms for taking such great care of our Lunch Bunch while the teachers enjoyed a special HSA Luncheon!  It was SO MUCH FUN!

WE LOVE OUR BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS, AMAZING CARD
as well as our bags of goodies!
Most of all though, we love our little sweethearts and their families!!
Thank You!!

Our CheeriOs were such a big hit!

They made the perfect suction cups for our Octopus Tentacles!

We loved learning about Octopuses for Letter Oo!

Drawing our own octopuses was pretty cool too!!

We worked on Hibernation again this week.

And made our own hibernating Ground Hog!

(A BIG SHOUT OUT for wearing this "Amazin' Mets" t-shirt too!! lol)

Then we learned all about SHADOWS!!!

And conducted really cool shadow experiments with our craft!

It was so much fun!

Our scissor skills are coming along so nicely!

Our Five Day Friends had even more Groundhog Fun!

And even got to play outside again before the DEEP FREEZE!!

Stomach Bug:  The Stomach Bug struck again!  This time it got all three teachers at almost the same time!  We are all feeling much better now and ready to get back to all of our little sweethearts!  Please remember that if your child comes down with it, they should be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school.  Our School Nurses are happy to give you additional guidance if you would like to reach out to them.

Weekly Recap:  We loved learning all about groundhogs and Groundhog Day!  Our warm weather lovers were so disappointed that he saw his shadow but our cold weather friends were so excited over the news!  Learning about shadows was a blast!  Ask your little weather reporter to demonstrate on their groundhog craft... all you need to supply is a flashlight!  We were so impressed with our little artists' scissor skills!  They loved showing off their abilities!  Keep up with all the practicing at home.  Great job!

A Sneak Peek at Our Upcoming Week:  We will be learning Letter Pp, preparing for Valentine's Day, working on our Weather Unit as well a doing a lot of PAINTING!!!

Valentine's Day: We will be celebrating Valentine's Day in PreK-3 on Monday, February 13th. (Valentine's Day is actually on Tuesday, 2/14 but we will be celebrating with our big group on Monday instead.) We will be exchanging Valentine's Day Cards in school.  Please send in one card per child with only your own child's name on each as the from whom the card is and not the name for whom it is intended.  This will make distribution much easier as the children are only just beginning to recognize each other's names.  We have 12 children in our class.  The children can either make their own little cards or they may be purchased.  Please don't spend a lot on them, the dollar stores usually carry class sets.  Please do not send in Valentines with food or candy as we have children with allergies in our school.  Your children may begin to bring in their cards whenever they are ready up through our celebration day on the 13th.  This little homework idea is completely optional: you may want to take this opportunity to have your child write their first initial (or full name if they are able to) on each of their cards and then finish the rest of their name for him/her.
