P is for PAINTING!!
(Sorry about all the photos this week... I had a hard time editing them out. You'll see why as you scroll down...)
We loved painting our hands to make a special surprise!!
We read another special Jan Brett book and made our "Bear-y" Special Valentine's Bags!
P is for Pig!!
We did so well with sequencing the nursery rhyme "This Little Piggie!"
The Three Little Pigs was so cool to read and dramatize!!
We worked in groups of three little piggies to make houses out of straw (yarn), sticks (popsicle sticks) and bricks (Legos) and the BIG BAD WOLF (Mrs. Dobres) tried to blow them down!! Ask your Little Piggie to tell you what happened!! IT WAS SO EXCITING!!!
Our scientists were back at it with a new experiment this week!
We mixed two colors to make a new color!!
Ask your little scientist all about it!!
Sponge Painting was really cool!!
We are so happy for our unexpected Spring Weather this week!!
Playtime is so fun!
Hope you LOVED your Valentine's Cards as much as we LOVED making them!
(shhhh!! Don't tell your little one that they were working on fine motor skills while they were making them!!)
We had a SCISSOR CHALLENGE this week!! We cut a folded piece of paper and then...
We OPENED the paper to reveal a BIG SURPRISE!!!!
Then we traced something very special inside!!
We turned our eye to the sky in our Weather Unit this week!
We painted using a new technique... the pompom on a clip method lol!
And made the most unique clouds ever!
We made a PINK animal... can you guess what it is?
Letter Matching Games are so fun!
Our Five Day Friends painted with yet another technique... the finger painting with spatulas while mixing colors to make PINK technique!!
It was SO COOL!!!
And made the most beautiful abstract art!!
We PAINTED with WATER COLORS too!!
It was the first step in another P animal that we will be making!
Our 💗LOVE💗Show and Tell was a BIG HIT this week!
Number 6 was pretty fun to PAINT too!
We 💗sunny playground days!
We LOVE playing games in the afternoon!
Weekly Recap: We painted our week away using so many painting techniques!! The Three Little Pigs and This Little Piggie kicked off our Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales Unit!
A Sneak Peek at Our Upcoming Week: We will continue to learn Letter Pp with a Valentine's Party on Monday and will be learning about President's Day, Peacocks and new Patterns!!!
Valentine's Day: We will be celebrating Valentine's Day in PreK-3 on Monday, February 13th. (Valentine's Day is actually on Tuesday, 2/14 but we will be celebrating with our big group on Monday instead.) We will be exchanging Valentine's Day Cards in school. Please send in one card per child with only your own child's name on each as the from whom the card is and not the name for whom it is intended. This will make distribution much easier as the children are only just beginning to recognize each other's names. We have 12 children in our class. The children can either make their own little cards or they may be purchased. Please don't spend a lot on them, the dollar stores usually carry class sets. Please do not send in Valentines with food or candy as we have children with allergies in our school. Your children may begin to bring in their cards whenever they are ready up through our celebration day on the 13th. This little homework idea is completely optional: you may want to take this opportunity to have your child write their first initial (or full name if they are able to) on each of their cards and then finish the rest of their name for him/her.
