 🦋We have some special new additions in PreK-3!🦋

A Sneak Peek at Our Upcoming Week:  We will be learning Letter Yy, continuing to learn about The Life Cycle, talking about and making things for our incredible MOMMIES and practicing for our Graduation Ceremony!! We will also be taking our much anticipated field trip to The Roxbury Public Library!!

🎓🏫PreK-3 Graduation - June 6, 2025:  We are in the process of planning our PreK-3 Graduation, "The Preschool Review" where we will take a trip down our PreK-3 Memory Lane singing a song or reciting a poem for each of the months we were in school!  Children will arrive in our classroom at 9:40 that morning and families will head to the Gym in the Main Building.  Our Performance will begin promptly at 10:00am and will be followed by light refreshments.  Children will be dismissed to their families right after the celebration.  Our Graduation will take approximately 60-90 minutes.  More details to follow.

Letter of the Week:  Letter Yy

Numbers of the Month: 9 and 10

Color of the Month:  Review of all Colors

Shape of the Month:  Review of all Shapes

STEAM Unit: Life Cycle
Themes for the Month:  Counting, Graphing, Name Writing, Scissor Skills, Opposites, Rhyming, Seasons of SPRING and SUMMER, Nursery Rhymes, Fairy Tales, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Flowers and Insects, Life Cycle

Religion:  Sign of the Cross, Simple Prayers, Grace Before Meals, Praying for someone you care about, "We Love Mary" and  "We Sing Our Prayers"

Show & Tell:   No Show and Tell this week due to a  TOP SECRET, VERY BUSY WEEK making things for a very special someone!! lol 🌹💗

May 19th - May 23rd: Fun in the Sun Week:  Stay tuned for more details.  Here's a sneak peek at our daily themes and tentative dates for this year's festivities: Our very own Pre-K PROM 5/19 or 5/23 rain date swap , Art in the Park Day 5/20 or 5/22 rain date swap, Animal Day 5/21, Patriotic Red, White and Blue Day 5/22 and Water Day 5/23 or 5/19 rain date swap!!!!

May 28th:  STS Schoolwide Field Day PreK-8th Grade (Rain date 5/30)

June 5th:  Last day of Preschool 😢

June 6th at 10:00am: 🎓PreK-3 Graduation!!🎓

We started off the week making some cool "Very Hungry Caterpillars!"

They are now on display in our classroom!

Our little scientists have been very busy making observations!!

Oh and did you know that caterpillars hatch from teeny, tiny little eggs that are usually found on leaves?

Our scientists  wrapped up our Transportation Unit by writing one last scientific entry into their journals!

Then we took turns rotating around all of our Transportation Stations one last time!

Then we all took turns on the Author's Chair to share our Scientific Journals with our captivated audience!

We loved reading "The Tiny Seed" and then painting our own sunflowers!

Then our little gardeners headed outdoors to plant their own tiny seeds!!

Stay tuned to see what they will turn into!!!

Once our painted masterpieces dried, we cut out some petals using our amazing scissor skills!!

Painted paper plates aren't the easiest to cut through yet we did an extraordinary job!!

The next step was adding seeds to the seed pods!!

Our beautiful sunflowers will soon be on display in our Hallway Gallery!

Our Five Day Friends loved reading "Frog and Toad's The Garden" and then painting their own frogs!!

We will be hopping onto the next steps in finishing up these masterpieces next week!

Xx is for Xylophone!

Did you know that you can make AND PLAY ON your own homemade xylophone?!?

Ask your little sound engineer to tell you what happens to the sound when you add water to the glasses!!

Oh, and let's not forget what letter Xylophone starts with!!!

And that we can turn it into our very own Xylophone crafts!!

Did you hear about "the racket" on our playground this week??

How about all the fun we had in the sandbox?

Did someone say "fun?!?"

Guess who heard and had to stop by to join in on it?!?!

What better way to end this fun filled week than by having our before-last SHOW and TELL!!

Only one more left this school year!
