A Sneak Peek at Our Upcoming Week:  We will be finishing up Letter Pp, learning about our Presidents, celebrating Valentine's Day, working on our scissors skills with a "lovely" new challenge as well as learning Number 6!!

💗Valentine's Day💗: We will be celebrating Valentine's Day in PreK-3 on Friday, February 14th. We will be exchanging Valentine's Day Cards in school.  Please send in one card per child with only your own child's name on each as the from whom the card is and not the name for whom it is intended.  This will make distribution much easier as the children are only just beginning to recognize each other's names.  We have 13 children in our class.  The children can either make their own little cards or they may be purchased.  Please don't spend a lot on them, the dollar stores usually carry class sets.  Please do not send in Valentines with food or candy as we have children with allergies in our preschool.  Your children may begin to bring in their cards whenever they are ready up through our celebration day on the 14th.  This little homework idea is completely optional: you may want to take this opportunity to have your child write their first initial (or full name if they are able to) on each of their cards and then finish the rest of their name for him/her.

Colors of the Month:  Red, Pink, Gray
Shape of the Month:  Heart

February Themes:  Counting, Numbers 0-6, Sorting, AABB and ABCABC Patterns, Feelings, Winter, Weather, Camouflage, Name Recognition, Name Writing, Scissor Skills, Calendar, Valentine's Day, Dental Health, Presidents' Day, Groundhog Day, Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes

Religion:  Sign of the Cross, Simple Prayers, Grace before meals, Praying for Others, "God is Love"

Show & Tell:  No Show and Tell due to Valentine's Day

February 17th: NO SCHOOL - Presidents' Day

April 7th: Combined PreK-3, PreK-4 and Kindergarten Field Trip to The Crayola Factory (Details coming home soon!)

April 11th: TENTATIVE - Easter Hat Parade at 11:15am (Details coming soon)

April 17th: Noon Dismissal NO AFTER SCHOOL CARE

April 18th- April 25th: No School - Good Friday and Easter Break

April 28th: School Reopens

Ask your sweet little piggie all about our piggie fun this week!!!

We did so well sequencing the nursery rhyme!!

Can you guess what mixing RED and WHITE makes?!?!

It makes our  soon to be piggie faces!!!

And  it makes Valentine Hearts too!!

Our Five Day Friends read a very special "What Do You Love?" story book and then wrote our own LOVE stories!

We loved "reading" them to our audience!

We started working on our Pp Books this week too!

We loved painting with our new painting technique!!

It is the first step in a pretty cool Pp animal craft coming home soon!!

We LOVED reading THE THREE LITTLE PIGS and then making our own Piggie Houses!!

Did you hear about who tried to "BLOW OUR HOUSES DOWN?!?!?!"

Then we built our houses out of STICKS!!!

AND BRICKS!!!

Can you guess what happened to those houses?!?!

Ask your Little Piggie all about it!!

Then we headed to the working table to make our own Piggies!!

And we wrote our own Three Little Pigs stories too!!

They will soon be on display in our Hallway Gallery!

Then we painted a peach colored paper plate which will soon become a cool Presidents' Day Craft!!

Then we turned our attention to 💓Love and Hearts!💓

We read another beautiful Jan Brett storybook... This time the main characters were Bears and not Hedgehogs!!

And then we loved using HEARTS to make our Bear-y special Valentine's Bags!!

(Shhhhhh... Don't ask too many questions about this activity.  It is a surprise for our most special Valentines!!!)

Our LOVE themed Show and Tell was so Lovely!!
