Weekly Recap: We had a short but busy week! The work coming home was a bit light because we've been working on some Valentine's surprises as well as continuing to work on our Weather Unit. We LOVED being scientists and observing what happens to snow and ice when they are kept indoors versus outdoors. The children were so excited to make their observations and they used so many wonderful descriptive words in their analyses!! We also started working on Number 6 and loved that that number took two hands to make on our fingers! We also continued impressing Mrs Dobres with our amazing scissor skills by cutting paths for the groundhog!
A Sneak Peak at Our Upcoming Week: We will work on Letter Mm this week as it was postponed due to the shortened week last week. We will also be learning about Dental Health, President's Day and can't wait for our Valentine's Day card exchange on Friday! We will also be working on a scissor skill challenge and working on Number 6 and counting 0-6 this week! Its going to be BUSY as we have some snow day time to make up! Also- 💗💗💗PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD WEAR VALENTINE'S DAY COLORS ON FRIDAY!! 💗💗💗
Valentine's Day: We will be celebrating Valentine's Day in PreK-3 on Friday, February 12th since the holiday falls on a Sunday this year. We will be exchanging Valentine's Day Cards in school. Please send in one card per child with only your own child's name on each as the from whom the card is and not the name for whom it is intended. This will make distribution much easier as the children are only just beginning to recognize each other's names. We NOW have 8 children in our class. The children can either make their own little cards or they may be purchased. That is entirely up to you. Please do not send in Valentines with food or candy as we have children with allergies in our school. Your children may begin to bring in their cards whenever they are ready through our celebration day on the 12th. This little homework idea is completely optional: you may want to take this opportunity to have your child write their first initial (or full name if they are able to) on each of their cards and then finish the rest of their name for him/her.
