Spring is in the air... (finally!)

A Sneak Peek at Our Upcoming Week:  We will be learning Letter Vv, venturing into vegetables, looking up to the sky in our Transportation Unit, working on Number 8 and hopefully welcoming some teeny tiny new additions to our class!

We are looking forward to taking a combined PreK-3, PreK-4 and Kindergarten Field Trip on Wednesday, April 24th with a rain date of Friday, April 26th!!  

This Week's Focus will be on:

Letter of the Week: Letter Vv
Number of the Month: Number 8
Color of the Month:  Purple
Shape of the Month: Rectangle

April STEAM Units:  Transportation and  Life Cycle

Themes for the Month:  Counting, Graphing, Name Writing, Scissor Skills, Opposites, Rhyming, Signs of SPRING, Nursery Rhymes, Fairy Tales, Earth Day 

Religion:  Sign of the Cross, Simple Prayers, Grace Before Meals, Praying for someone you care about, "God made the Earth," Protecting God's Creatures, and "Taking Care of Our World"

Show & Tell:  Friday, April 19th:  FREE CHOICE WEEK  Please bring in one item of your choice to Show and Tell our friends about.

April 26th:  Spring Picture Day (Please NOTE that it is on the same day as our Trip Rain Date)

April 26th:  HSA Daddy Daughter Dance

April 27th:  HSA Mother & Son Carnival (HSA rsvp by 4/20 required)

May 10th:  HSA Plant Sale

May 17th:  Tag Day - Wear Pink/Purple for National Cancer Research Month- Mary's Place by The Sea in NJ fundraiser

May TBD:  PreK Summer Fun Week!  (volunteers needed - details coming home soon)

May 24th:  Tag Day:  WEAR RED, WHITE and BLUE to Raise Funds for Eighth Grade Project Graduation  (STAY TUNED: This may coincide with one of our Summer Fun Week Days)

May 24th: Schoolwide NOON DISMISSAL (No aftercare)

May 27th:  NO SCHOOL: Memorial Day

May 29th:  STS Field Day (details coming soon)

June 6th: Tentative last day of PreK depending on future Emergency Days used

June 7th:  🎓PreK-3 Graduation🎓 at 10:00am (Tentative depending on additional Emergency Days used)

We kicked off our week with a fun Letter Matching Scavenger Hunt!

We are getting so good at identifying our LETTERS!!!

We loved learning Letter Uu!!

And loved learning all about UNICORNS!!

Our Great Outdoor Adventures continue to be SO MUCH FUN!!!

There are SIGNS of SPRING EVERYWHERE!!

We are REACHING NEW HEIGHTS in PreK-3!!!

Parachutes are sooooo coooool!!

The fun continued with our Five Day Friends...

We wrote our own Unicorn Stories!

We practiced our Letter U!

Our Master Builders created some spectacular masterpieces!

Our Paint Sticks came out again!!

They are so cool to write with!

We worked on our (unicorn) scissor skills!!

And we LOVED playing Unicorn Candyland!!!

And had fun with play dough too!!

Then we painted our masterpieces!!

And had fun with Learning Board Transportation SHAPES!!

We LOVED learning about TRAINS!!!

And even made our own!!

It was so much fun to choooo choooo our way around our classroom while we sang our fun new song!!!

Our trains were so much fun to make and learn about!

And then we put our finishing touches on them by counting their loads and writing our names on our train engines!

We loved learning about OPPOSITES!!

And read some really cool opposites story books!

We loved sorting BIG and little cars!

And we did SO WELL on our opposites work time!

Our Show and Tell Public Speaking Skills are really coming along so nicely!!

Our friend did a GREAT  job finding a sign of SPRING!!!

Our handwriting skills are coming along so nicely too!!

Memory Games on our Learning Board are a class favorite!!

YES!!  Our friend found a match!!

FINDING MATCHES IS SO EXCITING!!

Our Goldilocks and The Three Bears masterpieces are now on display in our Hallway Gallery!

Want to hear your naughty little one giggle????  Ask him/her about this story book!!!! My lips are ZIPPED!!!  I'm not saying anything about it!!  But please do share their reactions with me!!

My fingers are crossed for our Taste Test!!!

It should be Very Venturesome!!!
