Weekly Recap:
We had an exciting week creating such a clatter in PreK-3! We loved using our ears to hear, parading in a marching band with our Rain Sticks, reading, singing and dancing along to Pete the Cat, learning about and creating our own Crabs, talking about our feelings and how it is ok to be a little "crabby" sometimes, making Candy Corn Guys, and so much more!
A Peek at our Week Ahead:
These upcoming two weeks are going to be just as much fun as we review Letters Aa, Bb and Cc and explore Letter Dd, Number 2, our Sense of Smell, the color orange, triangles, continue to explore the Season of Fall and learn about firefighters and fire safety. We will also be participating in our School Wide Walk-a-Thon and have a cool Roxbury Fire Fighter Visit 10/4!
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Walk-a-Thon and Fire Fighter Visit - October 4th: Please dress your child in comfortable, weather appropriate clothing and shoes as we will be participating in the Walk-a-Thon with the rest of the school. We will be going straight to the Fire Fighter Presentation right after the Walk-a-thon so PLEASE be sure that your little one eats a good breakfast and uses the restroom prior to coming to school. It is going to be a very busy morning and we will be having our snacks much later than we are used to having them. Thank you!
REMINDER: We will be off from school this Friday 10/6 and upcoming Monday 10/9.
Dressing for the weather: As the weather begins to get colder (maybe not this week but soon), please dress your child for outdoor play. I recommend sending your child in a well fitting, warm hat as opposed to wearing a hood as their vision is obstructed with their hood as they run and play on the playground. Layers are always a good idea as well as we will continue to keep our classroom windows open (even with the heat on) throughout the upcoming months to better ventilate the classroom. Having a sweater or sweatshirt over their outfits in addition to outerwear is always a good idea so they can peel them on and off if they get warm or chilly. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE label everything with your child's name!! If you can't find a good spot, use a sharpie and write their name or initials on the washing instructions tag on the inside of the garment.
Emergency Clothing Bags: If your child has had to dip into their supply, please send in additional items. Now is also a good time to send in long sleeves and long pants (if you supplied us with warmer weather outfits) for us to have in your child's bag in the event of an emergency change of clothes.
Donation Request: Thank you to all the families who donated classroom supplies. We have been using lots and lots of baby wipes as we clean our hands frequently with them throughout the school day. If anyone is able and willing to donate more baby wipes in the next few weeks we would be so appreciative. We are well stocked with disinfecting wipes and tissues right now. Thank you so much for your generosity.
